Mixed media cardboard layout

Hello _ Hello _ everyone! I hope everyone is safe and well during this time!

Taking Inspiration from the April month mood board of

I  made a mixed media card board layout.

My camera was acting weird when I started working for this layout and was not able to fix it till the end. Therefore I am not able to post pictures of the steps or the procedures.
But took  pictures form my husband's phone camera after the project was completed.
So the pictures of the completed project are available  throughout this post.

For this project, I started building a background by gluing square pieces of card stock papers (leftover from some previous projects) on a piece of card board  to give it a look of some kind of  geometric shape.
Thereafter applying some more background elements like pieces of corrugated paper, laces and pieces of burlap etc. with the the help of gel medium( this gave my project a  good heavy look).
I Applied light Gesso( one coat) on each layers. Light gesso helps to prime the surface for further process and make the
layers appear through simultaneously. (Heavy gesso will make it kind of opaque, so I avoided it.)
In the following picture, it should be visible how the background are still visible.

After applying light gesso and thoroughly drying it,I did  stenciling the texture paste and thoroughly dried it followed by ink spraying. Here I have used home made ink sprays (red, yellow and green as per the mood board) and allowed them to dry.
I wanted to give some meaning to the layout so started gluing elements to the layout. This included gluing some fibers and upholstery thread and some chipboards. Here I have used a frame shaped and a circular shape chipboard. I white painted the chipboards followed by stamping them with Archival ink and gluing them together using hot glue. And finally adding a butterfly as a focal piece.

I also attached some handmade flowers and leaves along with some more butterflies to give some more interest to the layout. And finally added some art stone pieces here and there on the board to make it more appealing. I also added some sparkly wax color and sentiment "BLOOM EVERYDAY" ( a requirement of one of the mood board) to give it a final touch.

I am very excited to participate in the monthly challenge of following blogs.

And

Along with these blogs, I am also happy to participate in the following blog challenges

Hope you all will like it! Stay safe Stay healthy!
HUGS!!
